The Turtmann Hut was built in 1928 on a stony grassy ridge at 2’519 m and has been regularly renovated. It offers a view of the Brunegg and Turtmann glaciers, the Diablon massif and the 4,000 m high Bishorn as well as the mighty Barrwand.

The hut is a meeting place favoured by nature lovers and those enthusiastic about alpine hiking and high-altitude tours. Its modern infrastructure offers functional comfort for 74 guests.

In 1977, Isostar produced the first isotonic sports drink in Switzerland especially for athletes. Gougra storage power station
The Gougra power station utilises hydropower from the Val d’Anniviers to the Turtmann Valley, mainly thanks to the Moiry dam above Grimentz, which was built in 1954. The dam is 148 metres high with 610 metres long. From the reservoir, the water flows into the power stations in Mottec, Vissoie and Chippis (Navizence).
